There has recently been a debate about copper pillows. Many people would like to know what makes a copper pillow so rejuvenating. Is it the pillow itself or the case that it comes in?

Cupron Copper Technology has been able to add the antimicrobial qualities of copper to cotton. The copper oxide compound was able to be bonded to cotton. It created a soft, comfortable surface that was strongly antimicrobial and has been proven to reduce fine line wrinkles while you sleep. I had previously wrote about it on January 21st in a blog post called Copper Pillows, Cupron, and Ageless Sleep.

But the question still remains. Where is the copper? Inside the pillow? Or is it just in the case?

There are many websites that sell a copper pillow. Some of them are upwards of $80. Now, for the most part it would seem that the more expensive the pillow, the more copper it contains. Some of these same sites are selling their pillows as a “wrinkle miracle cure”. But the pillows themselves do not contain any copper or curing qualities. It’s just the pillowcases. Some of these other pillow companies have gotten away with tricky copy that make it seem that the copper is inside the pillows too. For the most part, the pillow fill is usually a poly/cotton blend.

This is exactly the case at Slumbermart.com. The copper pillow is on sale right now. It is about $60 cheaper than most of the other sites that I found. Cupron is a company with an excellent track record for being “green” during manufacturing as well as creating one of the most durable and premium quality copper/cotton fabrics. The copper is combined with the cotton, the cotton is then made into a fully washable pillow case, and then some of the cotton is blended with a poly fill to create the inner core of the pillow. This puts the antimicrobial effects of the pillow inside as well as outside, protecting you from allergies as well as the signs of age.

I hope that solves the debate. Or, at the very least, answers a few questions.
